Getting Over The Spring Break Blues

I don’t know about you, but I need spring break to start all over again. It feels like just yesterday I was in my hotel and looking forward to the best week ever and in a second it was over. I tell you I was almost in tears arriving at the airport, boarding the plane, and taking off. It was a series of me desperately trying not to cry/hold back tears. But our MUUZ girls know there’s time for everything and right now we’re just trying to get to the end of the semester and thrive. Here are some tips we all need to get over the spring break blues.

1. Have Something To Look Forward To

I’m not saying we shouldn’t live in the moment cause mindfulness is so important, however, we can’t deny having something fun to look forward to motivates us even further. After finals, I plan to go to NY with my friends and have the best time, and that’s keeping me very optimistic. I suggest planning a special date night, road trip, or spring party to get your spirits high. So while we’re in the library, or our 3-hour evening class that we were so close to skipping, just think about where you'll be in a few months and how this would be nothing but a distant, even faint memory.

2. Create A Morning Routine That Motivates You

It’s true what they say, how you start your day is how you’ll probably end it, and even though we wake up with that deep pit feeling it’s important not to dwell and certainly not to entertain it. Every morning I make my bed, do my affirmations, say a prayer(for those to whom it applies), and make an effort to look good. How we look is how we feel. I can't stress enough. It’s so important to present ourselves in a way we feel good about ourselves. My main morning tools are my Guasha, Dreamer Journal, and Calm Meditation App. Luckily the 3 products that guide my mission to feel great in the morning are linked below.

3. Make Time For Yourself

As annoying as it is that we get literally a week break in between a 14-week semester. It’s important to take time for ourselves and dedicate certain periods during the week to have some fun. Who says we only get a vacation during spring break? Yes, we may not be able to go to Mexico, but that’s why staycations exist. Watching a movie, a fun date night, staying over at a friend's house, hosting themed dinners, or even a girl's night. We all deserve a little fun outside of the designated holiday season.

4. Reflect On Your Back-To-School Vision Board

If you don’t have one that is perfectly fine and it’s never too late to start one. Obviously, the best place to do this is Pinterest. It’s a perfect way to redirect your focus and get right on track with your goals. I came back to school lazy, and exhausted but took a refresher course on my goals for the year and snapped right

back into it!! I know you can do this too. Activate our inner Rory Gilmore(before she started making terrible decisions). It wouldn't hurt to watch a couple of seasons as well just for extra motivation.
