We sat down with Favorite Daughter social media director and RummiKlubLA co-founder Laura Galvan to talk all things fashion, business, social media, and connection. Here’s how it went.
On a sunny day in LA, at a table outside La La Land Kind Café, with matchas in hand, I sat down with Laura Galvan, Director of Social Media & Brand Marketing at Favorite Daughter and co-founder of RummiKlubLA. Her warm energy immediately set the tone for the interview, which started to feel more like getting a coffee to catch up with a good friend. We chatted a little and then got straight to business. Let’s start from the beginning.
Laura has always been drawn to fashion. From going to fashion school to immersing herself in creative spaces, style has never just been a side interest, it’s always been the direction. While visiting LA from NY in 2021, she noticed a Favorite Daughter billboard above the sushi spot she was going to for dinner. Little did she know that moments later she’d find herself face-to-face with co-founder Erin Foster, who was handing her the clipboard to sign in for a table. Instead of brushing the moment off, Laura decided to shoot her shot and show her interest in working for the team. She followed up with a message that very day, and a few weeks later, received an email about a role opening up. That one brave follow-up turned into the job she holds today. Her message? Don’t overthink it. Shoot your shot.

Laura’s days at Favorite Daughter are anything but boring. Between filming content, creating ads, coordinating stylists, and helping bring brand activations to life, no two days look the same. What stood out most is how she described the industry itself. She explained how it’s much smaller than people realize, and your reputation really matters. Staying connected, following through, being the person who actually does what they say they will — those are the things that make people want to work with you again.
That same belief in real connection is what led her and her best friend, Marnie Wekselblatt, to create RummiKlubLA, an elevated, intentional game night built around bringing people together. What started as a small gathering quickly grew into curated events with waitlists, pop-ups in cities like London and Miami, and custom game sets now sold through major retailers like Revolve and Moda Operandi. Guests are seated intentionally based on shared energy and interests, making real conversations and real connections easy. She brought up how people don’t really talk at bars anymore — and honestly, I think she’s created the perfect solution to this problem. It’s exactly the kind of space people have been craving.

Next, I asked her whether she ever deals with imposter syndrome. She said that her way of dealing with it is to remind herself that even the people we admire most don’t always have it all figured out, even if they might present themselves that way. When things feel overwhelming, she puts her phone away, listens to music, and journals to help herself stay grounded. We agreed that writing things down is the key to having a clear head. Laura also emphasized the importance of choosing the right people to build with. She and Marnie contribute in their own unique ways, and their individual strengths come together perfectly. Her advice? Start before you feel ready and focus on what you bring to the table.
And don’t worry, I didn’t forget to ask her for her personal fashion advice. When it comes to fashion, Laura is currently loving sheer pieces, high-neck or funnel-neck jackets, and balanced outfits like a super fancy top paired with ripped jeans. She gravitates toward pieces that feel confident but effortless, which is why she often mixes something elevated with something casual. Hearing about all her favorite Favorite Daughter pieces was such a cool reminder of how genuinely connected she is to the brand she works for and the creativity she gets to live out every day.

But the most powerful part of our conversation came when she spoke about kindness.“Your day will go the way the corners of your mouth turn,” she said. The energy you choose to bring into a room, even on the days when you don’t feel like it, has so much power in shaping how your day will go (and maybe others’ too). The words you speak, the patience you show, and the way you make others feel all ripple outward. Her belief is simple: be kind, authentic, and willing to show up for people.
And maybe that’s the real takeaway. Success doesn’t always look big or glamorous at the start. Sometimes, it looks like a random conversation, a game night with friends, or a simple follow-up message sent at the right moment. And sometimes, it looks like simply showing up again tomorrow.
