Sometimes, it feels like every week is just a countdown to the fun of the weekend. During the dull stretches of school and work, I find myself daydreaming about all the exciting plans that Friday and Saturday will bring. However, there was always one day of the weekend that I didn’t look forward to... Sunday.

After each action-packed weekend, I would follow the same Sunday routine: wake up late, Doordash fast food, and put off all my work until 10:00 p.m.

Until one fateful Sunday evening, I had an epiphany: I hate Sundays because I’m doing Sundays all wrong!

Ever since this realization, I’ve worked hard to master the art of the “Sunday Reset.” I’ve developed a foolproof formula for enjoying Sundays and turning them from my most dreaded day into the day I count down to every week.

9:00 a.m. – Rise and Shine

Get your day started on the earlier side. Even though sleeping in feels good in the moment, getting into your routine will make you feel better. Grabbing my coffee and drinking it in bed is a Sunday non-negotiable for me. After you’re adequately caffeinated, make a quick breakfast; it’s time to start the day!

10:00 a.m. – Let’s Get Physical!

Put on a cute workout set that makes you feel confident, and head out to move your body. My favorite Sunday morning workout is a hot yoga sculpt class, but you can also try Pilates, working out at the gym, cycling, or even just a long walk outdoors. For an at-home Pilates vibe, I love Move with Nicole on YouTube.

12:00 p.m. – Set Yourself Up for Success

Now that you're back from your workout, why not treat yourself to a soothing everything shower? Once refreshed, I like to give my hair an at-home blowout. Afterward, I love applying my glowiest skincare to keep my skin feeling hydrated during those dry months. Slip into your coziest sweat set and head out to the grocery store to gather all your essentials for the week ahead!

2:00 p.m. – Fuel Up

I’m usually pretty hungry by now, so I like to make a big lunch with the groceries I just picked up. A Sunday favorite of mine is a Caesar salad topped with grilled chicken. If I’m in the mood to spend some extra time in the kitchen, I’ll make some breaded chicken cutlets. For healthy meal inspo, I love The Salad Lab. Fill your water bottle and sit down with your lunch to finish all your work or homework

6:00 p.m. – Wind Down and Relax

Now, the “reset” portion of our Sunday is complete; it is time to relax and do some self-care. The nighttime part of my routine always varies, but it usually involves taking a walk, applying a face mask, eating dinner, and, of course, having a sweet treat. I finish the night off by putting on a matching PJ set. On Sunday nights, I like to focus on putting away my phone and opting for some reading time instead. I often find that this quiet time helps me prepare for the week ahead, both mentally and emotionally.

Let this be your reminder: Make the most of your Sundays – you deserve it!

I’ve found that setting an intentional reset routine will change how you view your week and provide something worth counting down to during the weekdays. By taking this time for yourself, you can start the upcoming week feeling refreshed and motivated!
