We heard it’s breakup season and we’ve got just the right medicine for your heartbreak. Our MUUZ team has compiled a playlist of our favorite songs to sing, dance, and cry your heart out to. Breakups are a natural part of life, so if you’re currently experiencing one, just know, that you are not alone. Here are some healthy ways to cope and move on from a breakup:
1. Feel Your Feelings
Let yourself be sad, angry, hurt, and confused. All of your feelings are valid and matter. You are allowed to feel what you feel when you feel it! Ways to release your emotions in healthy ways include:
1.) Journaling
Write down all of your emotions on paper. The good, the bad, the ugly, the hurt. Write it ALL down. Let yourself feel everything and then burn it if you need to!
2.) SWEAT!
The human body detoxes as you sweat and release built-up emotions stored in your body. Sign up for that boxing class or hot pilates.
3.) Dance baby dance
Sometimes all you need is a good jam-out session in your room. Put on your favorite music and dance your heart out! (Check out MUUZ Spotify for song recs).
2. Lean On Your Friends
Sometimes when you get into a relationship you rely so much on your partner that you can forget to nourish your friendships. Your girlfriends are there to support, uplift, and be a shoulder to cry on in hard times. Ways I love to reconnect with my friends are:
1.) Phone a Friend
If your bestie is across the country, or miles away even just a phone call can brighten your day! Phone a friend, family member, or loved one and talk about things that make you happy, talk about what’s new and exciting in each other’s lives and what you have to look forward to!
2.) Do an Activity or Class
Try a new activity such as ceramics or an art class. Get your body moving and your mind
flowing!
3.) Have a Girls Night
Calling all the besties! It’s time for tears and chocolate. Put on your favorite rom-coms and let it out.
3. Become Your Own Dream Girl
Focus your energy on the life YOU want to cultivate. What does your dream life look like?
1.) Start That Passion Project or Hobby You’ve Been Putting Off
That idea that’s been in the back of your mind for a while now. Yes, that one. That one that you know could change your life and push you out of your comfort zone. It’s time to take action. There is no better time than now to build the life you’ve always wanted to live!
2.) Apply to Your Dream Job
Set yourself up for the future you. Write down your goals for the next 3 months and make it happen!
3.) HAVE FUN!
Go out with your girls and celebrate. Life is meant to be enjoyed. We love you and support you from the bottom of our hearts.
