Summer in Europe is nothing short of magical. Whether you're basking in the sun along the

beautiful coast or exploring vibrant cities, Europe has so many amazing destinations that cater to every type of traveler. They have beaches and cultural landmarks, so here’s your ultimate guide to the best European summer destinations.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast is hands down one of my favorite summer destinations. I visited when I was younger and recently went back — it’s just as breathtaking as I remembered. It’s the perfect spot for both a family vacation and a girls’ getaway. Beyond the iconic coastal views and mouth-watering Italian cuisine, you can easily start your trip with a few days in Rome before heading south. Wander the colorful streets of Positano, take a boat trip to the stunning island of Capri, and enjoy fresh pasta and cocktails while soaking in the endless sea views

2. Malta

Although I didn’t have time to visit Malta myself, all my friends who went absolutely loved it — and it’s definitely high on my list for next time. Malta offers a perfect mix of rich history, beautiful beaches, and Mediterranean charm. You can explore the ancient city of Mdina, swim in the dazzling Blue Lagoon (seriously, my friends raved about it!), and visit the impressive UNESCOWorld Heritage sites. With ancient temples, forts, and crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkeling and diving, Malta is a dream for both history lovers and beachgoers.

3. Lisbon+Algarve Portugal

I just returned from Portugal, and I’m already having serious post-trip withdrawals. Lisbon is now one of my favorite European cities, and the southern coast — the Algarve — is absolutely stunning with its dramatic cliffs and panoramic views. It is also only a 2-hour bus away! In Lisbon, make sure to go miradouro (viewpoint) hopping and ride the iconic Tram 28 through the colorful neighborhoods. Down south in the Algarve, explore the charming towns of Albufeira, Lagos, and Faro, each offering gorgeous beaches, lively old towns, and some of the best coastal scenery you’ll ever see.
