At the start of the summer this year, I was looking for a perfect summer shoe that isn’t too dressy, nor too casual. I wasn't looking for a classic sneaker, sandal, or ballet flat; I wanted something different. That’s when I stumbled upon “The Mesh Shoe”.

Elegant, timeless, and casual. We will dive deeper into the different types of mesh shoes, and how and when to wear them. The mesh shoe varies in shape, style and material. It also comes in very affordable price points, and is comfortable to walk in.

1. The Tweed/Leather

The Gold and Black mesh Mary Jane flats, which are pictured above. Generally, the Jane style tends to be more dressy and elegant. So whether you want to go on a date,  casual shopping, or even to a fancy event, the mary janes have you covered. In terms of material, leather and tweed are more elegant and will dress up your outfits more. I’ve walked miles in them with no blisters! When looking into buying a pair, you really don’t have to go overboard with spending. Some of the most comfortable ones are under 100$. If you want to splurge on a really nice pair, I would recommend the Asoliani mesh Mary Jane’s, these are on the pricier side but they are still lower budget than the famous ALAIA ones.

Now the real mesh tends to be more casual but can still be dressed up. You can go for a simple black mesh flat or spice it up with Black mesh and a gold metal rod, which will make it dressier but still casual, making them the perfect choice for a day out with your friends. If you want to go all out you can opt for Mesh with beaded detailing. The details level up your shoe, while it still isn’t too fancy but can be worn to an event which you want to fancy but not overdoing it.
