We have finally reached spring, and as the weather is changing, to me, I can feel the impending buzz of the season of sales. As a beauty lover, one sale reigns supreme: The Sephora Spring Savings Event. For me, this sale is a mad dash to buy my entire cart of the things that havebeen on my wishlist since the previous sale. As a Rouge member of Sephora, not only do I feel I have earned the right to have strong opinions on beauty products, but I also know I have the collection to back it up. Amidst the best sale of the year, it is necessary to remember: “am I buying this because I want it” or “am I buying this simply because it is on sale." Even though sephora has a plethora of skincare and makeup, as someone who seems to be addicted to buying any beauty product that I hyper focus on, here are three of my all time favorite products and two I would gladly return if I could.
Rec: Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint

When I first started getting into make up in 2018, I didn’t understand the hype and necessity
around foundation. However, now, as I have grown older, I can see the clear difference
whenever I use this product. Hourglass has somehow managed to make complexion products that change the game. Although I think every hourglass product truly is a winner, the one that seems extremely unmatched to me is their skin tint. As someone with dry skin that can also get oily pretty quickly, this skin tint balances hydration, along with a naturally glowing look thateveryone is looking to achieve, without becoming a greasy mess. This product is perfect no matter the season and I am so excited to stock up on it during the sale.
Wreck: ANY Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand

At the time of the last Sephora sale, I remember one of the items on the top of my list was the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wands. After trying all three of them, I can truly say there is nothing that makes them special. Although the packaging seems unique, they are extremely messy and a nuisance to use. Separate from this the product itself does not stand out enough to justify the $42 price tag. Despite it being one of the most expensive products in my rotation I never reach for it. I find different faults in each of the formulas no matter if it is the bronzer, blush or highlighter. Although I love Charlotte Tilbury, this product just misses the mark for me.
Rec: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

Never did I think that a setting powder would become something I reach for every day. I feel like setting powder gets a bad wrap of being drying, unnecessary, and overall a wasteful inconvenient product. After trying many setting powders, nothing combatted this idea until I tested out the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Powder. This setting powder takes away any lines under my concealer and refines all my pores on my face. When I went on a trip in 100+ degree weather this past summer across the desert of the western United States, this setting powder kept my makeup locked in all day. Since this trip, it has remained an everyday necessity in my routine and I truly cannot see myself ever straying from it.
Wreck: Saie Glossy-bounce Lip Gloss Oil

To me lip gloss is one of the most overwhelming categories to buy because of the way it seems like never ending options. I got this lipgloss in a pack with other items from Saie, although all the other products have become regular parts of my routine, this lip gloss seems like an easy product to skip. In my opinion, the formula is extremely sticky, smells like those old lipsticks that you would borrow from your mom, and I was extremely disappointed to see that after two weeks of occasional use it already seems like it was running low. Although I do like the way that lip gloss looks on the lips, there are so many that I think are so much more worth it.
Rec: Rare Beauty Effortless Cream Bronzer Stick

I feel like finding a perfect bronzer is one of the hardest things to do when looking for new
makeup items. The vast market of bronzers in a variety of formulas has left me with a multitude of bronzers, and with that, a multitude of disappointing products. However, the rare beauty bronzer gives a perfect warmth to my face without becoming overwhelming and is easily buildable and blends out seamlessly. Whether you were a beginner with makeup or a well experienced pro I think that this is the perfect bronzer to use to learn or refine your makeup skills.
