As the weekend comes to a close and the fun dies down, Sunday rolls around and the under-eye masks are pulled out, and detoxing begins. The one day of the week you have to get your life together and reset for the upcoming week. Sunday. The ultimate Sunday reset. It's about the ritual- dunking your face in a cold bowl of ice water to shock your body, showering the previous night away, and organizing your thoughts and plans for Monday-Thursday so you can be carefree Friday-Saturday.

There is something so special about a slow, Sunday morning. Waking up with the thought of knowing you get to reset your whole life in one day is revitalizing in itself.

Make a List

The satisfaction of checking boxes off one by one, and seeing your small wins in front of you is what this day is all about. Write down what you need to complete to make sure you stay on track for this upcoming week. Having a notebook dedicated to your list-making is so crucial in order to strictly follow these daily tasks. Once your list is completed, your mindset will have shifted with the simple peace of knowing you’ve accomplished many things and did it by being organized.

Get Out Of Bed and Welcome The Day

No matter what hour of the day you decided to wake up on this Sunday, get out of bed, brush your teeth, and tell yourself to conquer the day. Positive affirmations lead to a beautiful lifestyle. As you slowly make your way, make your bed, and begin your skincare. Remember, skincare is not complicated- use a gentle face wash, a fluffy moisturizer, and maybe a peptide for your eyelash and eyebrow growth.

Fuel Your Body

Success only happens when you feel good, and when you feel good you DO GOOD! With that said, eat a solid breakfast that will last you throughout your day. A few ideas of a solid breakfast include protein such as bacon, eggs, and sausage. You can always make that yummy avocado toast too. Pancakes, waffles, a smoothie- whatever is appealing to you that morning. Balance is key! You can put all the chlorophyll you want in your water, but it will mean nothing if you do not properly eat meals throughout your day.

One Step At A Time

When we get overwhelmed with schoolwork assignments, or tasks needed to be completed, everything feels bunched together- this is exactly what we are avoiding. Sunday resets can look different for everyone, but the ones who achieve success through these transformative days are the ones who learn to take it one step at a time. As you do what is expected of you on these reset days, check it off your to-do list, and move to the next task. Self-care is part of these tasks- putting on a collagen face mask while getting a paper done, or throwing a shower steamer in while drinking a glass of Prosecco. It's all about less pressure. Life has an overwhelming amount of expectations- use Sunday’s to be YOU.

Pull Those Toxins Out Of Your Body

It’s very important to pull the toxins out of your body, especially after Friday and Saturday nights out in the city. Here are a few ways you can toxin pull:

  1. Dry Brush - A loofah or soft brush can be used on a daily basis to remove dead skin cells. This helps prevent the blockage of pores and the slowing of toxins being released.

  2. Sauna - Sitting in a sauna is a form of sweat therapy. This excessive sweating releases toxins through the skin.

  3. Antioxidants - Foods such as berries, nuts, vegetables, and dark chocolate are full of antioxidants that protect cells in the body from any potential damage.

Dopamine Menu

As you continue through your Self-Care Sunday, remember to bathe in sunlight, stretch, journal your thoughts and feelings, light a candle, dance around your bedroom, and compliment yourself. You are doing an amazing job. Self-reflect, feel gratitude, look in the mirror, and compliment yourself. You deserve to take exquisite care of yourself daily. Come back to yourself on Sundays- let this be the day of self-love, self-care, and organizing the crazy, endlessly loving life you get to live.
