The Secret to Looking Put-Together (Even on a Bad Hair Day)

There’s nothing worse than waking up with your hair totally a mess on an early morning before class. With little time and pure exhaustion, it feels like there is nothing you can do to fix the disastrous hair day. Many times, I opt for the messy low bun, but with a new school year approaching I am looking to become more creative on my bad hair days and achieve effortless elegance. So, here are a few accessories to make you look more put-together in seconds.

1. A simple headband

One of the most simple and sleekest ways to add a little something new to your hair is by wearing a headband. Whether it’s brightly colored or neutral, it is the perfect accessory for any occasion or time of year. Personally, I love to wear cotton headbands. My favorite ones are from Amazon, they come in a pack of six for $10! They are not only affordable, but they are stylish and practical for everyday use.

2. An Oversized Scrunchie

Next, I love the look of oversized scrunchies. The more oversized and patterned, the better! I think it’s a great way to add in some color and texture to any outfit. With a slick back bun and a scrunchie, you can reverse a bad hair day almost instantly. Although it is a bit more expensive, the Emi Jay scrunchies are adorable and a brand we always have on our wishlist.

3. A Unique Claw Clip

They are oftentimes overpriced, but I can confidently say they are worth the hype. 4. A Basic Hat

And of course when all else fails, you can truly never go wrong with a basic hat. When your hair is frizzy, greasy, and pretty much a mess, throw on a baseball or trucker hat and all your problems will dissolve. It is always a go-to look for an early morning class or running errands.
