A Devilish Return: The Prada Reboot in the Works

Nearly two decades after it first redefined fashion on film, The Devil Wears Prada is making a groundbreaking return, reviving its iconic characters, unmatched wit, and impeccable taste that continue to influence fashion and style worldwide. Originally based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, the 2006 film follows Andy Sachs (Played by Anne Hathaway) as she steps into the world of high-fashion publishing after landing a job at the prestigious Runway magazine. As she navigates the demands of her formidable boss, Miranda Priestly (Played by Meryl Streep), and faces tension with her colleague Emily (Emily Blunt), Andy finds herself torn between her personal life and a career that's rapidly consuming her. Here's what we know:

Back in Character & Fresh Faces 

According to IMDb, the main cast of the original film will be returning to the big screen, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic. Anne Hathaway is back as the ambitious “Andy Sachs”, Meryl Streep returns as the fan favorite “Miranda Priestly”, Emily Blunt reprises her role as the fiercely competitive “Emily”, and Stanley Tucci as “Nigel”. But that's not all, this reboot isn’t just relying on consumer nostalgia. Several fresh faces will also be joining the film, including Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, Kenneth Branagh, Pauline Chalamet, Justin Theroux, and B.J. Novak. With a mix of returning A-listers and fresh talent, this sequel may just be equally unforgettable as the original. 

Release Date 

Although there hasn’t been a confirmed release date yet, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to premiere in May 2026. This time around, the film is expected to highlight the struggles of Miranda Priestly as the magazine industry declines and she faces off against her former assistant, Emily, who is now a powerful executive. With such a finely crafted and beloved original, fans can’t help but wonder if the sequel will honor its legacy or simply be overshadowed.

If you’re a New Yorker (or just love the city), here’s some exciting news: production for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently underway in New York City, with filming having commenced on June 30, 2025. Cameras have been rolling all over Manhattan ever since, so keep a lookout for signs posted under the Cerulean project name (iykyk). After some digging, we’ve gathered the latest on where and when filming will take place this week. Please remember to be respectful of the cast and crew during shoots if you do plan on visiting!
