I’ve tried every Matcha Spot in LA- and These Spots Won

Calling all matcha girlies. Matcha is all the rage.
But before we get into where to go, let’s just quickly address the question that somehow still comes up:
What even is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground powder made from specially grown green tea leaves. Instead of steeping tea and throwing the leaves away, you’re actually drinking the whole leaf, which is why it has that stronger, slightly earthy taste (and why it’s packed with antioxidants and a more sustained caffeine boost).
It’s not as harsh as coffee, it doesn’t give you that crash, and once you get used to the taste… there’s no going back.
So if you’re fully in your matcha era (or trying to be), here are the spots in LA that actually do it right.
Rok - The One You Keep Going Back to
If you know, you know.
Rok knows how to do Matcha right. It’s smooth, not overly bitter, and always consistent. Once you go, you will never stop. Whether you’re getting a classic iced matcha or their strawberry Matcha Duo, you can’t go wrong.

Community Goods - The Aesthetic Matcha Moment
This is where matcha meets lifestyle.
Community Goods is just as much about the vibe as it is about the drink, but luckily, the matcha actually lives up to it. It’s clean, balanced, not overly sweet, and makes for the perfect Instagram story.
It’s the place where you grab a matcha, and suddenly you want to sit there for two hours. Plus, there is incredible shopping to do around there.
Stagger - The Underrated Favorite
Stagger feels a little more low-key, but that’s part of the appeal.
The matcha here is strong but in the best way possible. It’s not watered down, not overly milky, just really good quality matcha. It’s for the people who actually like the taste of matcha and don’t want it covered up by syrups or cold foams.
If you're trying to level up from beginner matcha to something more quality, this is your spot. 4.
Handles - The sweet spot
Handles is perfect if you like your matcha a little more approachable.
It leans slightly sweeter and is an easy everyday option. It is not too intimidating or earthy so if you are looking for the right place to try matcha for the first time, this might be it.
I love to get my matcha with their homemade vanilla bean syrup. It’s the perfect combo! 5.

WYND - The cool girl pick
is the spot that you almost don’t want to tell people about.
It’s clean, minimal, and the matcha is done really well. You’ll love everything about WYND from the overall vibe to the actual matcha.
It gives low-key, effortless, and slightly exclusive, but in the best way. It feels like you discovered a hidden gem at WYND.
My personal favorite is the signature Cloud Matcha.
