Let's Learn From Love Island: How to Have a Girl's Back

Heart Float

As one of the most watched shows this summer, everyone’s talking about the iconic connections developed in the villa. Yes, I’m talking about the friendships and sisterhood formed by these girls! It’s so refreshing to see how all the girls (for the most part) have each other’s backs. I’ve been taking notes, so let’s dive into how to be the best at girl code.

Support Each Other

I’ve definitely felt the girls always supported each other through connections and times when they were single. While I also noticed times when things were a little shaky like between Leah and Liv, they were always able to hug it out and put it in the past.

Protect Your Friends

I really noticed this between the iconic trio of Jana, Leah, and Serena. They were always protecting each other against the guys or even when things got a little heated with the girls. When Leah was having a conversation with Rob and Liv in the fire pit, things were getting messy and Serena stepped in to have Leah’s back, which I thought was really amazing.

Hype Each Other Up!

Some of my favorite moments were in the changing room when all of the girls were hyping each other up before going on dates or heading to the Hideaway! I love how they can make each other excited about their current couples, but also keep it real when things aren’t looking good.

Sometimes it’s more fun to root for Love Island friendships than the actual couples. Even though the finale is only a few days away, the lessons and experiences from the show should be heavily considered. Despite all the drama, the most wholesome part of the series had to be the friendships.
